EMDR Therapy is an 8 stage comprehensive psychotherapy approach that has been researched extensively and is highly recommended by many experts in trauma treatment including the American Psychiatric Association and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies.
In addition to being a recommended treatment for trauma recovery, EMDR therapy is also helpful in reducing and eliminating anxiety, stress, addiction, disturbing memories, complicated grief and in the enhancement of performance. It has also been helpful for many in reducing depression associated with negative belief patterns.
EMDR for distressing health conditions.
Many of Mary Kay’s clients have experienced distressing health conditions such as cancer or autoimmune illness that have left a traumatic residue. Autoimmune illnesses in particular are much more likely when a person has experienced multiple adverse childhood experiences (such as conflicted parental divorce or absence, domestic violence, parental illness or death to name just a few). While nutritional interventions improve the body through increased strength, energy and brain focus, EMDR therapy can and has helped greatly in reducing or alleviating mental and emotional symptoms that may have remained such as anxiety, depressed mood or disrupted sleep.
